Exposing political and moral agendas in movies

Happy Feet does touch on green themes, with humans cluttering up the Arctic mainland with refuse and overfishing the surrounding oceans. But the last-minute unification of humans to save the penguins is just that: last minute. Harping on the eco-friendly agenda only distracts from the real program: a two-part hit on traditional order.
Moana is a hero in spite of her elders, not because of them. Which is strange because the movie seems to want to celebrate heritage.
Ferdinand, real issues are correlated with masculinity, as opposed to being wrongs independent of gender. Every situation in the movie is relentlessly tied to toxic masculinity.
A running gag in Pixar and Disney’s 2003 collaboration Finding Nemo, is that although Marlin is a clownfish, he’s not particularly funny. Neither are the movie’s hidden agendas.
The movie starts with one of the only intact families in the Disney canon. Princesses Anna and Elsa have two loving and living parents, and they are happily ensconced in Arendale’s royal palace.
